MLM recruiting is done completely wrong by most distributors. Many aspiring entrepreneurs go out trying to pitch their friends and family members on why they should join them in their quest for success, and end up begging anyone and everyone in their sphere of influence to take a look at their opportunity.
This scenario is all-too-common amongst the lowest ranks of MLM rookies that are trying to break into the industry. They get hyped up on the slogans, the timing, the product, the company...and in the process, completely overlook the most important tool that the veterans and heavy hitters use to grow their organizations. That one thing is called positioning.
This tool is what makes the difference between the rookies and failures and the people who earn substantial incomes. It's the art and science of identifying and targeting who your market really is (hint: it's NOT your friends and family members) and then positioning yourself in their pathway to help solve their problem. A newbie to the industry may say that their market doesn't have a problem - but all markets have problems, and the successful marketer is one who recognizes that fact, discovers what his markets problem is, and then solves it.
It sounds elementary, but it's the #1 secret that uplines never share. They teach antiquated techniques such as handing out CD's and DVD's, flyers, business cards, and then working your "list of 100" friends and family members, 3-way calls, and other outdated strategies. These do absolutely nothing to position the average distributor (except to make them look like a gopher).
Learn and use positioning like the pro's do - and you have a chance to get results like they do.
